Community Christmas

This year Hermann FCCLA decided to help bring the school together to provide many children and their families gifts for Christmas. Several clubs bought gifts for the families and helped make sure the school and community knew Community Christmas was going on. Posters, commercials, and a giving tree were all made for the cause. In the end our school helped 250 children and their families have a merry Christmas! Thank you to everyone who helped with this community service project!

Be sure to stay tuned to what FCCLA is doing! In February FCCLA will be holding a district wide food drive!

Homecoming

Hermann FCCLA decided to put together a homecoming float for the community to see. It was the first time our chapter decided to accomplish this task. The overall theme was Dreams Can Come True, which was based on Disney. We chose our float theme to be based on The Little Mermaid. We spent a lot of time working on making the characters and surrounding scenery. When it was time for the parade we were prepared and ready to go! It was a great success and let  the community see just we do.

Teen Depression & Suicide

Becky took on the challenge to get the message out about depression in suicide. She took her knowledge and experiences to create this touching video. She made it aware that it a serious topic and anyone in a situation should get help immediately. Check out her video under the tab:  Digital Stories for change.

Advocacy

Jessica did her project focusing on the widely debateable topic, abortion. She is pro-life and investigated the topic. She found out an abundance of information. She even interviewed a doctor about it. She felt very strongly about the topic and put her heart into the project!

Family Relationships

Natalie and Jessica decided to do a digital story for change on family relationships. They focused on the topic of how not every family has a strong bond. That some families don't have that strengthened ties. They speak about their personal feelings in their video, which you can watch under the Digital Stories for Change tab.

Plan and Teach
